Guided hunts in Montana

Mule Deer Hunts

hunt details

Our Montana mule deer hunts take place on private ranch country in south-central Montana, within reach of the Billings area. This is classic mule deer terrain — open ground, big views, and the kind of country that holds mature bucks.

We keep the schedule tight each season, so you’re not hunting behind other groups. The goal is simple: good deer, good opportunity, and a hunt that feels well-run from start to finish.

Most hunts are structured around morning and evening movement, with time during the day to glass, scout, and adjust based on what we’re seeing.

Additional Details:

  • Species: Mule Deer

  • Location: South-central Montana

  • Hunt Style: Spot-and-stalk and glassing-focused

  • Openings: Limited each season

  • Average Buck Range: (Contact Ryan to confirm score range)

  • Districts: Billings-area units (confirmed during booking)

Hunt Style

Glassing, Stalking, and Covering Country

Mule deer hunting is different than whitetail hunting. These hunts are more active. We spend time behind the glass, watching draws, ridges, and feeding areas, then making a plan and moving in when the right buck shows up.

Expect:

  • Glassing from high points

  • Spot-and-stalk opportunities

  • A mix of walking and strategic setups

  • Hunting terrain that feels wide open and classic Montana

It’s a straightforward, honest style of hunt.

TERRAIN & PROPERTY

Private Ground Managed for Quality Deer

Our ranches are actively managed and not hunted hard. We don’t run high volume, and we don’t pack hunters into the same week.

That matters. Less pressure leads to better movement, better age class, and a better hunt overall.

A lot of our mule deer hunters return because the experience stays consistent year after year.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

Every mule deer hunt includes:

  • Guided private land hunting

  • Lodging during your stay

  • Meals included

  • Help with planning, tags, and timing

  • Field care and support after the harvest

If you’re wondering what tag you need or what dates make the most sense, just reach out. Ryan will walk you through it.
