RSO Outfitters offers guided hunting trips on carefully managed private ground in south-central Montana, including deer, antelope, elk, bird, and varmint hunts. Our operations are intentionally limited each season to protect animal quality and provide a focused, ethical experience in the field. As a full-service hunting & fly fishing guide, operated by Ryan Stefek, we also offer guided trips on the Big Horn River and select combination options for hunters who want to spend time on the water as well. Every trip is planned around the season, conditions, and what makes the most sense for your time in Montana.

We offer guided hunts for whitetail deer, mule deer, elk, antelope birds, and varmints on private ground near the Billings area. Hunt lengths and seasons vary by species.

Most big game hunts require advance tag planning. Montana draw deadlines are April 1 for deer and elk, and June 1 for cow elk and antelope. Ryan is happy to help you understand what applies to your hunt.

The best way to book is to call or email Ryan directly. These trips are a significant investment, and a quick conversation helps make sure the timing, tags, and expectations are right.

Most guests fly into Billings Logan International Airport (BIL), which offers easy access to our hunting and fishing areas in south-central Montana. From Billings, it’s a straightforward drive to Ft. Smith and our guided hunt locations. We’re happy to help with travel planning if needed.

Yes. All anglers are required to have a valid fishing license for the state where they’ll be fishing. Licenses can be purchased online ahead of time or locally, and we’re happy to help point you in the right direction if you have questions.
