WHICH ELK HUNT IS RIGHT FOR YOU?

Choosing the Right Hunt

Not sure which elk hunt fits best? Here’s the simple breakdown:

  • Bull elk hunts are longer, fall-based trips with limited availability and more tag planning.

  • Cow elk shoulder season hunts are shorter, more flexible, and often easier to schedule with over-the-counter options.

Either way, the best first step is a quick call so we can talk through tags and timing.

What to Expect

Elk hunts represent the most demanding and rewarding form of Montana hunting. These guided Montana hunts typically run 5 days and require physical effort, patience, and adaptability. Expect long glassing sessions, hiking through rugged terrain, and close coordination with your guide.

All elk hunts include lodging, meals, and professional guiding. Extra days may be added based on daily rates and availability. The closest airport is Billings Logan International Airport.

Hunt pricing does not include licenses, meat processing, lodging before or after the hunt, gratuities, or taxidermy.

What To Bring

Because elk hunts are physically demanding, proper gear is essential:

  • Valid Montana hunting license and tag
  • Rifle or archery equipment

  • Durable boots with good ankle support

  • Layered cold-weather clothing
